New Matrixforce Favicon
Matrixforce has introduced a new favicon for web branding. Favicons are the small icons next to the URL in the address bar or the web page title in a web browser. The previous Matrixforce favicon representing IT 24-7 was difficult to distinguish since ICO files are just 16×16 pixels. The new look features our unique textured maroon background and stylized “M” font.
In the early days of the Internet, favicons were used as a way to estimate website traffic by counting the number of visitors who bookmarked the page. Today, the main reason to have a favicon is the obvious improvement in user experience, as a website without one will just show a generic browser symbol.
Branding is the other significant benefit to having a favicon. Versus a sea of three-letter, blue competitors, Matrixforce is far more noticeable. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) made favicons a standard in 1999. So if your organization doesn’t have a favicon, it’s definitely time to develop one. There are various favicon generators on the web, as well as the sample code for referencing on your web pages or blogs.
We’d like to thank you for the feedback to change our favicon and welcome any other ideas.
